Hi-Fi Weddings Feature

Victoria & Drew’s wedding got a nod from Ashley over at Hi-Fi Weddings, a blog that speaks to the audiophile in us wedding planning folk.  Looking over their playlist, many of the songs brought me back to parts of the wedding day that I had forgotten, like blissing out on Beach House on the ride to the ceremony, humming along to M Ward’s Rollercoaster when I first entered the Victorian Valley Chapel and watching the crowd stir when they entered the reception to Guns N Roses Sweet Child O Mine (a great way to kickstart a party).  If you’re toying with the idea of an iPod reception or are just looking for a list of songs to give your DJ that doesn’t include the Chicken Dance, Macarena or the Hokey Pokey, check out  Hi-Fi’s list of of suggested tunes.

Get Hitched Give Hope this Thursday at the Arctic Club

Are you in the thick of Seattle wedding planning?  Let loose with others in the same boat this Thursday at the Arctic Club and raise money for a great cause in the process.  Get Hitched Give Hope is an annual fundraiser for the Making Memories Foundation, which grants wishes for metastatic breast cancer patients.

In addition to swag bags and delicious food, there will be an auction for various services and goods from Seattle wedding vendors.  Maybe you’ll leave with these gorgeous wedding bands from T. Anthony Sholdt, your make-up done by the incredibly talented Erin Skipley, or perhaps a floral package from Flora Nova or Christopher Flowers.  There are a ton of bargains to be found but only if you go.  Get your tickets now before they’re gone.  See you Thursday!

In case you need more convincing…

ShowMeYrTiffs

What a crazy night!  The opening party of  Show Me Your TIFFs was a week ago but I’m just now coming back down to earth.  Patrick Wright and Kyle Johnson documented it all on their time capture devices, so there will be evidence blogged soon.  Patrick posted this goofy outtake until then.

Thank you to everyone who made it out to West Seattle for the party as well as those who helped me pull it off and gave me the support and encouragement over the past ten years to keep shooting.  I can’t name you all here but damn it, I’m gonna try:  Robin Dupuy, Erika Long, The Adventure School, Jessie S-K & Charlie, the rest of the staff at Skylark Cafe, Demetre Arges, Erin Skipley, Matt Terich, Sarah Jurado, Damien Jurado, Amy Blaschke, Laura & Sinclair at Halo, Hannah Levine, Jaime Holmes, Pete Quirk, Frank Nieto, Airpocolypse, Carly Nicklaus, Patrick Wright, Kyle Johnson, Ever Kipp, Alissa Newton, the Seattle Weekly, Autumn de Wilde, Pandalab, Justin Renney, Glazers Camera, Sean & Lydia Flanigan, the Shooting Skirts, Barsuk Records, Chris Kornelis, Shane Berry, Breanne & Jimmy Curran, Kelly O, the Crocodile, the Stranger, the Showbox, Andy Pixel and the three other guys that were brave enough to bare all.  Thank you!

If you weren’t able to make it out for the opening party, you still have time to check out the show, which is up at Skylark until December 14th.
